Superformance Chassis' are the only Cobra replica's manufactured that are true Shelby Licensed products. According to Carroll Shelby himself; "Fact is, soon as it's less than a real Cobra, not built by me, it's counterfeit. There’s an exception when it comes to Jimmy Price and Lance Stander. Superformance International makes replica Cobra in South Africa and calls the two-seat roadster they build the MKIII. It's still not a true Shelby, but I've endorsed and licensed the car for being as close to correct and well-built as possible. I can't say the same for others."

Carroll Shelby's concept was simple enough. Take the attractive, lightweight, well-proven Ace roadster built by AC Cars and turn it into a world-beating production racer by the simple expedient of replacing its aging six-cylinder engines with a powerful and reliable American engine. When Shelby first commissioned AC Cars of England to build the CSX in 1962 it was the same factory setup and tradition that Superformance continues to uphold in their factory hand built chassis.  As AC employees hand welded each tube into place on the Cobra chassis, Superformance maintains that same attention to detail in every chassis produced.

We are pleased to announce, not only that such a car is available in our inventory, but one that was owned by Lance Stander, the CEO of Shelby Distribution.  It has a 427 engine with custom cam, solid lifters, and an Edlebrock highrise intake manifold producing 511 horsepower.
